Romance abounds amongst these American works! Guest pianist Michael Sheppard performs Gershwin’s jazzy and sensuous Piano Concerto in F. Copland’s Suite from Appalachian Spring is a beautiful portrayal of American frontier values and Howard Hanson’s Symphony No. 2, “Romantic” is a masterpiece of neo-romanticism. The world premiere, “Celebration” is a ‘musical chain letter’, a fun celebration of contemporary compositional talent.

The Composers 11 are Kenji Bunch, Anthony Cheung, Dan Coleman, Roshanne Etezady, Jefferson Todd Frazier, Laura Karpman, Shafer Mahoney, Rob Mounsey, Kevin Puts, Elena Ruehr and Christopher Theofanidis.
