Tonight and tomorrow evening, the TSO will perform its final Classics series concert program - the last concerts of the season. And all I can say is: what a workout! This program, and especially the Vaughan Williams symphony, is one of the hardest I have ever played. In fact, I would have written a blog entry sooner if I hadn’t been practicing so much this week! I would guess that the violin concerto is one of the most difficult violin concertos out there, too. In fact, I wouldn’t be surprised if the concerto would be performed more if it weren’t quite so relentlessly taxing of its soloist. The same might be true of the symphony. Fortunately for you, your job is easy - just sit back, relax, and enjoy the beautiful music!
