Villa-Lobos: Prelude from Bachianas Brasileiras No.4 TSO PREMIERE
Dvořák: Serenade for Strings
Gabriella Smith: Rust TSO Commission WORLD PREMIERE
Mozart: Symphony No. 25

A buoyant finale to the MasterWorks season! Anyone who saw the hit film Amadeus will enjoy hearing the opening music from it – 17 year old Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s brilliant Symphony No. 25. Antonín Dvorák was a newlywed when he wrote Serenade for Strings and it remains one of his most popular works to this day because of its beautiful, memorable melody. Villa Lobos’ Bachianas Brasileiras No. 4 is one of his nine compositions written as suites fusing the Baroque style of writing with elements of Brazilian folk. Bravo!

Complimentary “Concert Comments” with the conductor and guest artist take place one hour before the performance and give you insight into what you’re about to hear.
