Single Tickets For Tucson Symphony Orchestra’s 2017-18 Season Are Now On Sale

(Tucson, AZ)─Individual tickets for the Tucson Symphony Orchestra’s 2017-18 programs are now on sale.

Superstar Yo-Yo Ma, 10-time Grammy® Award winner Arturo Sandoval, world renowned violin virtuosos Gil Shaham and Rachel Barton Pine, famed ensemble Mariachi Los Camperos and Bugs Bunny are among the guest artists who will perform with the Tucson Symphony Orchestra this season. Tickets for Yo-Yo Ma are currently only available to subscribers and will go on sale at a later date.

Music Director José Luis Gomez will open the season on September 22 and 24 conducting Margariteña by Venezuelan composer Innocente Carreño and Gustav Mahler’s Symphony No. 1, “Titan.” The opening will also feature Zhang Zuo, the award-winning young pianist hailed by the Los Angeles Times for her “powerful, passionate and compelling representation of pure artistry,” performing Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 2. Maestro Gomez will open the Masterworks Series with Mendelssohn’s Symphony No. 3, “Scottish” and a Mozart Violin Concerto featuring Tucson Symphony Concertmaster Lauren Roth. Other season highlights include Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony, “Choral” with the famous “Ode to Joy,” Stravinsky’s Firebird, Grieg’s Piano Concerto and Dvořák’s most popular symphony, “From the New World” with the wide open spaces and music that influenced him brought to life with a multimedia presentation on the big screen.

Tickets are also available for The Music of James Bond featuring vocalist Hilary Kole opening the SuperPops series on October 28 and 29. Kole has been called a “musical marvel” by the New York Observer. She has researched the movies and crafted a concert that is part music history and part movie history, including the sometimes humorous and remarkable story of the Bond franchise itself.  Tickets are also on sale for the SuperPops! shows featuring Arturo Sandoval, Let’s Dance and Women Rock.
